Rachel HUDSON was born in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire in 1843 to parents Nathaniel and Eliza. In the 1951 Rachel is the eldest child and the family are living in Smithy Lane, Uttoxeter. By 1861 Rachel is possibly lodging in Rugeley giving her occupation as a Wire Worker - this is yet unconfirmed as there are no other family members with her to verify this is correct.
In the 1871 census Rachel is living with her husband, William and their one-year-old son, also William. As it turns out, William and Rachel don't formally marry until 17 September 1872. The marriage takes place at St Peters, Yoxall and their residence is given as Hadley End. By 1881, the family are living in Kingsley, near Cheadle, and have another son, Thomas who is nine-years old. William is still a chimney sweep. 1891 finds the family (including a third son, Nathaniel) in a lodging house in Yoxall.
Rachel's death is registered in 1900 in Cheadle.
