Mary BURROWS was born in 1878 to Robert BURROWS and Mary RICHARDS?. She was the eighth child of nine, her siblings being: Amos, Selina, Sarah, William, Moses, Samuel, John and Ellen. The family lived in Ilkeston throughout Mary's childhood. At the time of the 1891 census, Mary, aged fourteen, was working at a Hose Seamstress
On 3rd April 1899, Mary married John BOSTOCK in Ilkeston. They had four children: Elsie, Ida, John and Samuel.
