Marcelle Vivien ELTON-WALTERS was born 22 February 1926 in Brading, Isle of Wight to Joseph and Lucy (nee WETHERICK). Marcelle was their only daughter and had five brothers: Brian (1925), Ashley (1928), Brodie (1931), Neil (1932) and Barry (1936).
Marcelle married Albert GORRINGE on 7 June 1947 in Brading. They lived in Brighton, Sussex and brought up six children. Marcelle worked as a cleaner and so was called 'Nanny Mops' by her grandchildren. She later became a shop manageress.
She died at home on 9 June 1984.
