Lucy Margaret WETHERICK was born in Brading, Isle of Wight in July 1895 to Richard and Bertha (nee WALKER). Lucy was the youngest of eight children: Alice (1873), Annie May (1873), Harry (1879), Bertha (1882), Bessie (1885), Richard (1888) and James (1890). Three of the siblings had died before Lucy was born (Alice and Harry in 1882 and James in 1890).
On 16 June 1919, Lucy married Joseph Edward ELTON-WALTERS in Brading where they continued to live and brought up six children: Brian (1925), Marcelle (1926), Ashley (1928), Brodie (1931), Neil (1932) and Barry (1936).
The 1939 Register records Lucy as living in Brading with the family.
Lucy died on 21 May 1961 and is buried in St Mary's church, Brading.
