Ida BOSTOCK (1902)

Ida BOSTOCK was born 23 September 1902 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. She was the second daughter to John BOSTOCK and Mary BURROWS. She had an elder sister, Elsie, with two younger brothers, John  and Samuel following.

In 1911, Ida was eight-years-old and living with her family in Ilkeston where she attended school. Her father's Army records show that they were living in at a different address in Ilkeston in 1914.

Ida married William HUDSON on 14 May 1927 (his name given on the marriage certificate as William JOHNSON). As it turns out, this marriage wasn't legal as William was already married. It is unknown whether Ida was aware of this before William was convicted for bigomy.

Ida and William went on to have five children, living in both Ashborne and Ilkeston. The 1939 Register records Ida as living in Ilkeston with the family. Her marital status is listed as single. Her surname is recorded as HUDSON which has later been amended to BOSTOCK.

Ida and William remained together until Ida's death in 1955, aged fifty-two.
