Archibald Joseph TATLOW was born in 1881, Codnor Park, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was the second child of Harry and Hannah (nee WOOD SIMS). His siblings were Harry (1879), Ethel (1882), Grace (1887) and Dorothy (1889). He was baptised at Ironville Christ Church on 15 August 1881.
Archibald grew up around the Alfreton area, going on to work in the Ironworks as an Engineer's Turner. He married Florence MILWARD in 1903 at St Lawrence Church, Heanor. They had five children Dorothy (1904), Eric (1907), Harry (1910), Florence (1912) and Phyliss (1916).
During World War I, Archibald served in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.
Archibald died in 1948 at the age of 67
